Truss resignation: The Conservatives must give us an election

Reacting to Liz Truss resigning as Prime Minister, North Shropshire MP Helen Morgan said:

“The only way to end the chaos the Conservatives are causing is through a General Election. The country cannot afford a third failed Prime Minister in one year. Boris Johnson and Liz Truss have already inflicted too much damage. Families across the nation are fed-up with crisis after crisis being inflicted on them by incompetent Conservatives.

“People in North Shropshire had already had enough when they voted Lib Dem last year and now they are angry at the idea of another amateurish Tory being forced upon them.

“It’s clear Conservative MPs cannot be trusted to choose a Prime Minister, therefore they must fulfil their duty to the country, put voters first and give the people a say.

“The time for a General Election is now.”
