‘They are out of ideas and need to be out of office’ says Helen
North Shropshire MP Helen Morgan has accused the Chancellor of pulling the wool over people’s eyes amidst the cost-of-living crisis.
Helen Morgan, Liberal Democrat MP for North Shropshire, said, “People in Shropshire won’t be fooled by the Chancellor’s attempt to pull the wool over their eyes.
“This budget won't touch the sides for families and pensioners grappling with years of Conservative tax hikes, soaring mortgage repayments, and a weekly shop that costs more than ever.
“It also won’t solve the crisis in our health service or give near-bankrupt local councils any relief. We need proper investment and serious support for our services, .
“If this is all the Government has to offer the public, they should admit defeat and call a General Election.
“The Conservatives are out of ideas and need to be out of office.”
The MP has also criticised the Chancellor for not mentioning farming, rural areas, or Shropshire.
Helen Morgan MP added, “The Chancellor took a lot of time to mention many parts of the country today, but rural areas were notably ignored.
“There was no mention of Shropshire – which has the worst A&E waiting times in the country – and no mention of farming, despite the crisis in the industry. The Conservatives are completely out of touch with the issues that affect our area.”
