Shropshire's newest MP marks 15,000 casework milestone
Shropshire’s newest MP has marked a milestone of completing 15,000 pieces of casework for her constituents.
Helen Morgan was elected in the 2021 North Shropshire by-election, memorably declaring that ‘the party is over’ for then-Prime Minister Boris Johnson. Since then, she has pledged to ‘put Shropshire first’ and deal with problems both big and small in her constituency.
The MP says that her main campaigning priorities for North Shropshire have been health, transport and farming but that a large part of her role is dealing with individual cases for constituents.
Every week Helen fights their corner on topics like housing, pensions, and issues with Shropshire Council.
She has reiterated that her office is here to help any constituents of North Shropshire who have a problem that needs sorting out, big or small.
Helen Morgan, Liberal Democrat MP for North Shropshire, said, “Big issues like the state of our NHS, the lack of transport links, and the future of the farming sector regularly make the headlines in North Shropshire, but a lot of what I do every week is deal with individual cases for constituents on a wide range of topics. That can be anything from mouldy social housing or a problem with pension payments to a complex issue with rogue developers or council-funded care provision.
“I’m supported by a fantastic team in dealing with an enormous quantity of correspondence, and it is a real milestone to have opened our 15,000th case this week.
“We are here to fight North Shropshire’s corner and deal with all sorts of problems, big and small. If you think we might be able to help with an issue or problem, please don’t hesitate to ring up the office, send a letter, or email us the details. We get back to everyone and always do what we can.”
