Rishi Sunak should now strip Boris Johnson of his ex-Prime Minister's allowance

North Shropshire MP Helen Morgan has issued her verdict on today’s report showing that Boris Johnson would have received a 90-day suspension from the House of Commons, having deliberately misled MPs over the partygate scandal.

Helen ‘Burst Boris’ Bubble’ in the North Shropshire by-election 2021, in what was a major defeat for the then-Prime Minister and his government.

Helen Morgan, Liberal Democrat MP for North Shropshire said, “The people of North Shropshire issued their verdict on Boris Johnson over 18 months ago, when we burst his bubble. It is clear that their view has been vindicated by today’s report.

 “Rishi Sunak should now strip Boris Johnson of his ex-Prime Minister's allowance. Allowing him to claim up to £115,000 a year to fund office costs for life is an insult to bereaved families who suffered whilst he lied and partied.”
