£72 million needed to fix crumbling hospitals in Shropshire
More than £70 million is needed to fix the backlog of repairs at hospitals in Shropshire, new analysis by the Liberal Democrats has found.
North Shropshire MP Helen Morgan is urging local parents to make use of SpaDental Whitchurch’s 500 extra free NHS kids dental appointments for children, with places still available this week.
This comes amidst a petition by the MP to improve access to NHS dental care in rural areas like Shropshire, having raised the lack of provision in rural areas with the Secretary of State for Health.
SpaDental practice have announced around 60 extra NHS places for children every week, and still have room this week for checkups in Whitchurch, which the MP is urging people to take them up on.
Helen Morgan MP said, “Access to NHS dental care in North Shropshire is not as good as it should be, so it is great to see some of our local practices taking initiatives and offering extra NHS spots for children.
“I would really urge residents in and around Whitchurch whose children are in need of a check-up to take SpaDental up on their offer.
“There is still valuable clinical time on Thursday and Saturday which can be accessed, and extra NHS appointments over the next few weeks too.”
Christopher Hilling, Managing Director of SpaDental, added, “SpaDental Whitchurch is keen to get their message to parents. We have increased appointments on Thursday 26th and Saturday 28th for children under 18 to receive NHS funded dental care.
“We have about 60 new appointments for children a week, starting this week. It’s a great opportunity so we urge parents to get in touch via our website: spadental.co.uk/contact as soon as possible.”
