Helen Morgan wins North Shropshire constituency at the General Election

Helen Morgan has been re-elected as MP for North Shropshire with a huge 15,133 majority over the Conservatives. It was the first time that a non-Conservative has won North Shropshire at a General Election since 1832.

Helen was first elected to represent North Shropshire at a by-election in December 2021, where she beat the Conservative candidate by 5,900 votes. Helen served as MP for two and half years before Parliament was dissolved for the 2024 General Election.

The full result from 4th July:

  • Helen Morgan, Liberal Democrats, 26,214 (52.9%)
  • Conservatives 10,903 (22%)
  • Reform 7,687 (15.5%)
  • Labour 3,423 (6.9%)
  • Green 1,234 (2.5%)
  • Ind 133 (0.3%)
