Helen Morgan MP has thanked the hundreds of residents who attended her second string of ‘Summer Tour’ events at village halls in rural North Shropshire, taking the chance to share their views on a whole host of local and national issues.

This year the MP focused on getting to meet residents in some of the most rural parts of her constituency, hosting events in Norton-in-Hales, Rhydycroesau, Hodnet, Cockshutt, Kinnerley, St Martin’s, Welshampton, and Whixall with residents from the surrounding parishes invited to attend.

The top issues to come up were healthcare, the state of the roads and public transport network, and the need for improved rural broadband and mobile signal.

Helen Morgan MP said, “From Norton-in-Hales across to Rhydycroesau, North Shropshire is a wonderful place to live, and I have thoroughly enjoyed getting out and about around the constituency hearing what residents have to say about issues big and small.

“It feels appropriate that after banging the drum on ambulance waiting times for so long, having it come up at every event and on so many doorsteps, we finish this year’s tour with an extra £21 million allocated to emergency care funding – a real result for North Shropshire.

“I can’t wait to get back out on the doorstep talking to residents and hearing about the campaigns they want me to take down to Wesminster and get results on.”
