Helen meets RJAH Spinal Injuries group in Parliament
Helen Morgan has attended a meeting with key advisors from the All Party Parliamentary Group on Spinal Injuries as part of her ongoing efforts to campaign on health issues in her constituency.
North Shropshire is home to Robert Jones & Agnes Hunt Hospital at Gobowen, including the Midland Centre for Spinal Injuries – one of only 11 in the UK.
RJAH is now also home to a state of the art Veterans Centre, opened by the Duchess of Edinburgh earlier this year.
The MP went to learn more about the complexities of spinal cord injuries and to show her support for the work done at RJAH.
Helen Morgan, Liberal Democrat MP for North Shropshire said, “I was really interested to hear more about the issues faced by spinal injury patients while they are recovering from life-saving care and learning to live with disability.
“We are really fortunate to have Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Hospital and Midland Centre for Spinal Injuries here in North Shropshire. Spinal cord injuries are often incredibly complex and require specialist care – it is reassuring to know we have access to that in North Shropshire given our wider issues with NHS provision.
“I am always happy to hear from local people about their experiences and feedback about using health services in the county, so please feel free to contact me if you would like to offer your input to my ongoing campaign to fight for our local health services.”
