Helen checks in on progress at new Health Centre in Whitchurch
North Shropshire MP Helen Morgan has checked in on progress at the new Clayton Health Centre at Pauls Moss in Whitchurch, visiting the site with representatives from the Primary Care Network, Churchmere GP Practice, and the building contractors.
The £19 million scheme was given the green light back in 2019, aimed at providing Whitchurch with more modern health and care services as well as a combined housing and care scheme for the over 55s.
Helen Morgan toured the site with Dr Gary Branfield of Churchmere Medical Practice, Jody Dennis and Dr Tim Lyttle from the Primary Care Network, and site manager Richard Williams.
Helen Morgan MP said, “Access to GPs and health services in Shropshire is plainly not good enough. It is good to see plans progressing for a modern facility in Whitchurch at Pauls Moss which should help residents in the town get the medical care that they need in the right setting.
“Beforehand, we stopped by Whitchurch Foodbank to hear more about Primary Care Network plans to improve access for those most in need, and to see the local operation up close. In a cost-of-living crisis there is so much work to be done on stopping those healthcare inequalities from widening.
“Thanks to Dr Branfield, Dr Lyttle, Jody and Richard for taking me around and for being generous with their time.”
