Enthusiastic response on first stop of Helen’s Summer Tour
Helen Morgan MP has confirmed the details of her next ‘Summer Tour’ event after being met with an enthusiastic response on the first stop in Trefonen.
The North Shropshire MP’s second Summer Tour started at Trefonen Village Hall on Friday and the event was a huge success, with residents keen to meet their local Member of Parliament and raise local issues big and small – from the state of the NHS to problems with local roads.
Around 60 residents attended during the hour the MP was at the hall to hear their views.
Helen and her family enjoyed the Trefonen Hillwalk weekend over the bank holiday, and recognised many familiar faces from the event on Friday.
This week Helen will be in Whixall Social Centre from 4pm to 5pm on Thursday June 8th.
Helen Morgan, Liberal Democrat MP for North Shropshire said, “It is great to be off to a fantastic start with the Summer Tour this year. Last year we visited over a dozen villages and the main towns in the constituency, and this year we are planning to meet even more people.
“Representing an area as vast as North Shropshire is a great privilege, but also comes with its challenges. Being able to hear from local people on what they want their MP to be doing is vital and means I can represent our area as best I can.
“This week we’re in Whixall at the Social Centre between 4-5pm on Thursday and I’m looking forward to meeting many more local residents. Do come along if you live in the area and fancy a quick chat.”
