Helen Morgan calls for General Election to end ‘Tory circus’

North Shropshire MP Helen Morgan has called for an immediate General Election to end the “Tory circus” and fix the current crisis.

The Liberal Democrats have condemned the Government for their mini budget blunders which led to increased mortgage costs, soaring energy bills, sky-high petrol prices and rising food costs.

Helen Morgan, MP for North Shropshire, said: “The Conservatives’ catastrophic blunders have wreaked so much havoc on the economy that people across North Shropshire are already paying the price through their mortgage payments and energy bills.

“At the same time as hanging hardworking families out to dry, the Tories are protecting the profits of the oil and gas giants when they should be introducing a windfall tax.

“Liz Truss is clearly incompetent and the fact she was chosen by the Conservatives shows how out of touch the party is.

“People in North Shropshire made it clear they had had enough of the Tory circus when they voted Lib Dem last year. Those same voters have continued to be ignored and are fed up of being taken for granted.

“We need a General Election now to take the Conservatives out of power and end this crisis.”
