Helen Morgan MP visited Christians Against Poverty (CAP) and the Trussell Trust Food Bank in Market Drayton on Friday 11th March following the end of her COVID isolation.

Helen said “I am pleased to be able to resume constituency visits and meet with community groups and volunteers.

"I’d like to thank Carolyn from CAP who invited me to visit, and also Helen from the Food Bank for also making time to speak with me about the issues that local residents in Market Drayton are facing.

"As the cost-of-living crisis hits the work of CAP and the food bank is as important as ever.

"The staff and volunteers I spoke with said that they are already noticing an increase in demand for their services.

"We need action from the government now to ensure more people are not pushed into financial hardship, and residents in North Shropshire don’t have to choose between heating or eating.”

Any residents experiencing financial difficulties or debt problems can get in touch with CAP on 0800 328 0006.

For anyone requiring emergency food parcels or food bank assistance can call 0808 2082138 for the national helpline.
