Boris Johnson should follow ministers out of the door

North Shropshire MP Helen Morgan said: “Boris Johnson must stand down. He is incompetent, he is a liar and his resignation has been overdue since before I was elected back in December.

“While these resignations are welcome, they stink of hypocrisy.

“Rishi Sunak and Sajid Javid are culpable for being at the centre of one of the worst Governments in history - a Government that has actively decided that truth and transparency do not matter.

“From paid lobbying to Partygate they have devoted months to saving Boris Johnson while he laughed in the face of voters struggling through Covid and a cost-of-living crisis.

“People here in North Shropshire want to know when they’ll be able to get a GP appointment or hospital scan, they want to know that an ambulance will arrive before it’s too late, they want to not have to choose between filling their car up and putting food on the table. And now we have a Health Secretary and Chancellor with no knowledge of the brief.

“While Boris Johnson remains in power these problems will not be solved. People have been taken for granted for far too long and the Prime Minister must follow these ministers out of the door.”
